Consenso de huéspedes japoneses

A big, family-friendly 'hotel' that is really a 70-room ryokan on the Hiyoriyama coast, next door to Kinosaki Marine World — sea views, Tsuiyama crab and warm service, but recirculated baths, no private baths, ageing rooms and a 10-minute ride to Kinosaki's onsen town

Despite the name, Hotel Kinparo is a ryokan: 52 of its 70 rooms are Japanese-style, guests wear yukata and dinner is a multi-course kaiseki-style set built on Tajima beef and seafood from Tsuiyama port, with tagged Tsuiyama snow crab from November to March. It stands on the Hiyoriyama coast outside Kinosaki's onsen town, run by the same company as the adjoining Kinosaki Marine World; guests get discounted aquarium passes valid for their whole stay. The Misaki wing dates from 1991, and the upmarket 'Tokijiku' floor of the Nagisa wing, with its own lounge, dates from an October 2010 renovation. Most recent evidence comes from booking-site reviews rather than independent blogs: Japanese guests rate it 4.6 across 411 reviews on one major site (dinner 4.7, service 4.7) and 4.47 across 579 on another (baths 4.50, facilities 4.26). Reviewers in 2025–2026 praise the sea views from the lobby, rooms and open-air baths, generous crab and beef dinners, a breakfast buffet with French toast made to order, and attentive staff who arrange private dining rooms and birthday cakes. The catches: the inn's own Hiyoriyama spring is recirculated and filtered, there are no private baths, and tattooed guests can't use the shared baths. Recent complaints mention wall stains, dated washbasins and an old-inn smell, smoke odour on the smoking floor, an allergen served despite notice (June 2026), and a noisy shared dining room in a family-heavy house. Two-meal stays ran about ¥24,000–30,000+ per adult in 2026 reviews; winter crab plans cost more.

Recomendadas

  • Misaki wing (岬の館) Japanese rooms with a guaranteed ocean view

All 47 face the Sea of Japan: 36–63㎡, with a 10–12.5-tatami main room, a side room and a two-bowl washbasin, sleeping up to six. 2026 reviewers found them 'almost too big' for three and roomy for six, and enjoyed watching the aquarium from the window. The wing has served guests since 1991, though, and a September 2026 guest found large stains on the walls; others mention old washbasins and toilets.

  • Nagisa wing 'Tokijiku' Deluxe Japanese-Western room (83㎡)

Twin beds plus an 8-tatami area, a sea-view bathroom on the rooftop-garden side and access to the Tokijiku guest lounge (free coffee, books, aroma oils). Only two exist, both step-free with a wheelchair-accessible bathroom. A July 2026 guest loved its size and an August 2026 guest travelling with an elderly parent found it comfortable, though a February 2026 wheelchair user found the layout awkward, the TV small and the barrier-free work imperfect.

Mejor evitar

  • Smoking-floor rooms, and the Tokijiku Suites if you expect a full sea view

One floor of the Misaki wing allows smoking, and an August 2026 guest found it smelled like a smoking karaoke box despite deodorising. The four 56㎡ Tokijiku Suites look out to sea across a rooftop garden: a June 2026 guest loved the view from the bath, but older reviews complained the sea was barely visible, and a May 2025 suite guest disliked eating in the same busy dining room as everyone else.

La cocina a fondo

Consenso sobre el desayuno

4.3/5

A buffet of about 50 dishes with a live kitchen — French toast made from local rice-flour bread is the most-praised item, alongside soba, fruit and, in summer, shaved ice. Most 2026 guests rate it highly, though one repeat visitor still wanted better quality and one wheelchair-using guest rated it 2/5

Book a Marine World ticket plan: the pass covers two days with re-entry, hotel guests have their own exit from the back of the aquarium into the hotel (2024 blog), and the front desk will hold luggage before check-in. Reserve the free shuttle from Kinosaki Onsen Station and the town bus (out 16:00, back 17:30) if you want Kinosaki's outdoor baths. Ask staff when breakfast is least crowded.

Claves de la cena

4.3/5

Set courses — Urashima, Otohime (with abalone) or Shiosai — built on Tajima beef, seasonal sashimi and seafood bought daily at Tsuiyama port, with Tsuiyama snow crab (blue-tagged) full courses from November to March. Dinner is served in a beamed dining room with an open kitchen or in private rooms; in-room dining is not offered. Children get a plate with a choice of seven mains. Guests in 2025–2026 call the crab 'amazing' and the meals plentiful, but an August 2026 regular found this year's menu less exciting, a September 2026 guest missed the tempura, and a June 2026 guest was served a dish containing a declared allergen.

Onsen y bienestar: la realidad

Tipo de agua

Hiyoriyama Onsen, the inn's own sodium-calcium chloride spring, described as 'fossil water' from 20,000-year-old strata; it is salty and keeps you warm for a long time. A major booking site lists it as recirculated and filtered (循環ろ過) — not free-flowing. In-room bathtubs are not described as spring water.

Privacidad y ambiente

Two large baths, Urashima and Otohime, each with indoor tubs, an open-air bath over the sea, a sauna and extras such as a jacuzzi and utase-yu, open 15:00–1:00 and 6:00–10:00. There are no private (kashikiri) baths. Guests love the wave sounds and horizon views; complaints include a leak at the bath entrance (January 2026) and an open-air bath that a May 2025 guest found visible from the aquarium's walkway when standing up.

Política sobre tatuajes

The official site asks guests with tattoos not to use the large baths.

Advertencias y matices locales

  1. 01

Check-in 15:00, check-out 10:00. Meals are served in the dining room, private dining rooms or small banquet rooms — not in your room.

  2. 02

It is not in Kinosaki's onsen town: allow 10 minutes by car. The free station shuttle runs by reservation, and a town bus leaves at 16:00 and returns at 17:30.

  3. 03

A family-heavy house next to an aquarium: expect children, especially in school holidays, and a lively shared dining room.

  4. 04

The building is ageing: 2025–2026 reviews mention wall stains, dated fittings, an old-inn smell, smoke odour on the smoking floor and a two-week-expired welcome sweet.

  5. 05

Cancellation under the inn's terms for parties of up to 14: 30% from 3 days before, 50% the day before, 100% on the day or for no-shows; plans may differ.
